#185 - I Received a Terminal Prognosis
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I have received a terminal prognosis. My loved ones and I, along with my church, battled the disease in prayer. There were days of hope. I ask that if there is any way I can live, to spend more time with my loved ones and to make a difference in this world, please give me life. May this diagnosis be wrong. May a second opinion give me that hope. If not, Father, I need to make sure I am in a right relationship with You. Father, You are God and I am not. I have been living as if I was my own god. I have often doubted Your character. I have worshipped other things. I have been a rebel. However, You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my rebellion. His body was broken and His blood was shed for me. Father, I believe this. I need what Jesus did on the cross to apply to my rebellion. In His name, I ask for forgiveness of my sins. In my remaining days, help me to surrender my life to You. Fill me with Your love so that those who care for me see a dramatic transformation of my character. May I be at peace. May I have joy. May I be a blessing to others. Soon I will be healed. I will be free of the burden of my sin. Thank You for the salvation that I have. I thank You that I have time to say goodbye to my loved ones. I have time to spend precious moments with them. I have time to tell them things that will bless their hearts for the remainder of their lives. I have time to prepare for my funeral and burial and to discuss my will. Thank You for these opportunities and I pray for Your blessings on these things. Father, my loved ones are crushed by my prognosis. Please minister to them. Please lift their spirits. May they find hope in Your love and in the gospel of Jesus Christ. May they examine their own lives and realize their need to confess their rebellion. May they repent, surrendering their lives to You. Father, thank You for all those who tried to save my life. May they know how deeply I appreciate their efforts. I will soon see the Creator of the universe and my dear Lord and Savior. I am excited. Amen.
