Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, we are going out on the town. Dancing. Drinking. Eating. Going to see a band. We are going to have a good time. Laughs. It's been a tough week at work. Stress. Tension. Pressure. It's time to party and release all this tension. Father, did we try to handle our struggles in life on our own today? Did we discover we can't and our partying tonight is a scream about our frustration with our lives? Are we trying to escape from the reality that we are not god and we cannot control our circumstances? Father, this could be the last night of my life. Tragedy has been known to hit clubs like this. Is this where I want to be when it all comes to an end? Is this how I want to go out? Father, one minute after my last breath, would I do this night differently? Would I do my life differently? Father, if I am to be in this place may I be here because I am in my right mind and I'm here to care for hurting people. May I be here tonight because I am emotionally and spiritually strong, living for You and for the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. If my life ends tonight, may I go out caring deeply for my friends who are trying to find escape from their pain. Father, may I be the friend who spiritually rescues all his or her friends from disaster. We don't have to lose our minds or our lives like this. There is hope in God. Amen.
