#31 - My First Communion
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I'm having my first communion. I rebelled against You. I desired to be my own god. I doubted Your character. I worshipped other gods. For this rebellion, I deserved Your fierce wrath. However, just before I was slain by You for my rebellion, Jesus Christ arrived, the ram in the thicket. He offered to take my place. I asked Him to do so. Your wrath intended for me went on Him. His blood was shed and His body was broken. You then turned to me and asked me, "Did what I just do to Jesus pay the penalty for Your rebellion? Did His blood shed for You? Was His body broken for You?" I then answered, "Yes, God. His blood was shed and His body was broken because of my rebellion from You." You turned to Jesus and You told Him to rise, get off the altar. You love Him so much that You were pleased to give Him life. You gave Him authority above all other authority because You are so pleased with His sacrifice for mankind. You loved us that much, to send Your Son to die on the altar for our rebellion from You. Father, this communion today is symbolic. Christ shed His blood and His body was broken for me. My first communion is not an excuse for a party. It is a reminder of what Christ has done for all of us. Father, thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross for me. Amen.
