Dear Father, I long for contentment. I long for the feeling that I have all that I need in You. I long for the comfort of knowing that I lack nothing because of You. I long for the feeling that I am forever safe because You are watching over me. You will take care of me. You will battle for me. I can be content because my security depends upon You and not myself. I confess my rebellion to You. I live to be my own god. I doubt Your character. I worship other things. It causes me anxiety, stress, confusion, and despair. I hate living this way. Forgive me. May the blood shed by Jesus Christ pay the penalty for this rebellion. Help me surrender my life to You. May You be the God of my life. When You are, I will know contentment. Amen.
