#458 - I Can Be a Drama Queen/King
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor
Dear Father, I am a drama ________ (queen/king). A drama queen/king is a poster child for all who live to be their own god. I am on the throne. Everyone around me was made to serve my needs. People are to think about me when they aren't with me. Others are to make decisions and plans based on what I want. When I'm not happy, they aren't happy. Trust me. I let them know it. When I'm not getting enough attention, I'll create a crisis. I'll tell people every detail of my life, just to remind them my life is most important. I criticize others to reinforce that my will and opinion are at the center of the universe. This is all about "me-me-me". I'm not even hiding the fact that I'm my own little god. I'm proud of it. I'm a diva. Father, there may be only one cure for being a drama queen/king - my humiliation. I need to learn that I am here to serve You and to serve others. I need to learn that the needs of the people around me are more important than my own. I need to think about how I can help others. Father, I'd rather learn these lessons voluntarily, without the need for the discipline of hardship. Father, forgive me and give me a new spirit today where I live to meet the needs of others. May people look at my life and be impressed by the character of Jesus Christ at work in me. Amen.
