#117 - God - The Greatest Story Writer
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, what do William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, George Orwell, J.K. Rowling, Virginia Woolf, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, James Joyce, Oscar Wilde and CS Lewis have in common? They are lousy story writers compared to You. You have authored millions upon millions of stories about how You are a good God, a loving God, a just God, a powerful God, a righteous God, a sovereign God, and an amazing God. You write love stories, drama, comedies, and action-packed thrillers. What is the point of these stories? They prove Your point. "I am the one true God who works in people's lives for their good." We are to find courage and strength in how You have worked in another person's life. It's called a testimony. Father, we aren't to skip ahead to read the end of someone's story. Just when we think we know what to expect next in someone's life, You have an unexpected twist in the story. What's next in the story of my life? A chase scene? A comedy scene? A romance? A tearful scene? I don't know. However, I do know this: You do have a happily-ever-after in mind for every story. Everything that leads up to the final scene is proof that the hero will go to any lengths to rescue the human He loves so much. That's what happens when the hero of the story is also the writer of the story. Father, thank You for the story You have written in my life. May others be encouraged by it and drawn into a deeper relationship with You because of it. Amen.
