#136 - I Am Having Problems Sleeping
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I have trouble sleeping. I sleep restlessly. I do not wake up refreshed. I feel fatigued. It's been this way for a long time. Father, I may be deeply disheartened with my life. This is not what I expected my life to be like. I thought I would be someone other than who I am. I need to accept the life that I now have and experience peace in my soul about who I am today. Father, no matter what my situation is like, rich or poor, good or bad, healthy or sick, young or old, I can honor You by my character. Give me peace of mind as my character growth becomes the single purpose of my life. Help me let go of my hopes and dreams for my life and embrace Your dream for me. You want me to have the character of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Father, I may also be losing sleep because I'm anxious and scared about frightening things in my life. What will be the results of that biopsy? Do I have cancer? Will my spouse get laid off? Father, I'm doubting You in some way. I'm not certain You are sovereign. I'm not certain You are all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, and all-kind. I'm not certain You are compassionate and generous. Therefore, it's up to me to handle it and I am worried and it is keeping me up at night. Father, help me to believe in who You are. Give me the faith I need to rest in the knowledge that You are the amazing God who is in control of my life. May I believe in each of Your beautiful character traits so that I can rest in peace. Father, there may be a physical explanation for my inability to sleep, such as sleep apnea. Touch and heal my body so that I can rest at night. Keep me safe behind the wheel. Help me to be productive despite my exhaustion. Keep my immune system strong to fight off disease. Help me to maintain control of my emotions so that others feel loved. Father, grant me the sleep that I long for so much. Amen.
