#162 - I've Had a Drug Relapse
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I had a relapse. I tried to give up drugs and alcohol. I tried to stay clean by sheer willpower. However, I realized I cannot regulate my heart, soul, and mind. My addictive behaviors are ingrained into both my conscious and subconscious thoughts. I surrender to addiction when I'm not even aware that I am doing so. I surrender to addiction when I am very much aware of the consequences. I don't care. I cannot change myself. I need You to change me. That change begins with confession of my rebellion and repentance. It is only when I surrender to Your authority that I can call on the power of God to permanently break the grip the drugs and alcohol have on me. Father, I need to confess and repent of my rebellion each day. I need to inquire of the Lord for every decision. I need to have trust and faith that You will deliver. When my heart is thinking this way, there will be no more relapses. Father, help me to surrender my life to You. In the meantime, please help me to recover from my latest swim in the pool of addiction. Amen.
