#371 - Traveling
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, we take things for granted. We make plans and expect everything will work out just as we planned. We set itineraries and expect there will be no inconveniences along the way. We expect that we will stay on schedule. There will be no interruptions, detours, or breakdowns. We are, once more, our own gods and we have spoken regarding our plans and, therefore, they will come true. However, that's not how life is. Life has many wrong turns, traffic jams, cancelled flights, delayed trains, and flat tires. You allow these things to remind us we are not God. Father, our travel is in Your hands and not our own. Therefore, we ask You to protect us from illness and injury. We ask You to protect us from those who would do us harm, intentionally or unintentionally. We ask You to limit inconveniences along the way for the simple reason we would rather not experience them. We pray You will limit inconveniences and get us back on the road as quickly as possible. We pray that as we travel we will appreciate the opportunity to travel, the methods of travel, and the beauty of Your creation along the way. We ask that we can touch at least one life on our trip, giving them encouragement and hope. We ask that the purposes of our trip will be accomplished, provided of course our purposes are not contrary to Your will. However, we also ask that You be You, the creative God that You are, and that something special comes out of this trip that is a blessing. Father, You are the God of travel and we are not. Amen.
