#383 - Visiting the Woods
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I am heading for a walk into the woods. What strikes me is the different personas of the woods, one in the light and the other in the dark. During the day, the woods are inviting, especially for those who want to escape to a place where they can talk to You and reflect upon the circumstances of their life. The quietness and isolation found walking through the trees is good for the soul, fostering both self-examination and conversations with You. However, when the sun goes down, the woods can be a fearful place. The darkness is penetrating and the sounds of unseen critters scurrying through the leaves nearby can be unnerving. Nighttime in the woods is a reminder of our vulnerability and that we need God to watch over us. Father, help me to take time in the light to reflect upon my life, considering where I need to change and grow. Help me to trust You in the darkest moments of life, when I can't see a foot in front of me. I know You are present, guiding me step by step, eager to protect and defend me from harm. Amen.
