#749 - Protect My Identity
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor
Dear Father, my identity is vitally important in our culture. My identity consists of my name, address, birthday, social security number, birth certificate, passport, driver's license, identification card, certification of citizenship, visa cards, credit cards, voter's registration cards, membership cards, insurance cards, professional certification cards, and various licenses. My identity can also consist of my fingerprints, DNA samples, voice print, dental records, and iris recognition. My identity can be verified by family, friends, co-workers, teachers, neighbors, and doctors. However, with the advancements in information technology, a computer geek can falsify all kinds of documents and steal my identity. People can purchase goods and services or borrow money in my name. They can sign legally binding contracts in my name. In other words, I am vulnerable. I am not god. I need You to protect me. Father, adversity can come into my life if someone steals my identity. It may derail my greater calling to serve You. In other words, if I am serving You effectively, our enemy would love to have my identity stolen and create a crisis in my life. Father, I ask for You to protect the integrity of my identity. I ask You to repair my identity where it has been damaged by others. Father, You are God and You are present when malicious people come across my identity in their search for victims. Please derail their efforts to steal my identity. Amen.
