#128 - I Have a Diagnosed Mental Illness
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I have received a diagnosis that I have a mental illness. Perhaps I am borderline, bi-polar, or schizophrenic. Father, I need Your mercy. I may be struggling because of a physiological condition. Please heal me with the power of medicine. Perhaps something traumatic disrupted my formerly healthy thought processes. Please heal my broken heart. Mend the wound. Remove the scar. May I separate myself from that experience and move forward in my life with newness and strength. Father, I also may be struggling with mental illness because of the pride and rebellion of my heart. For example, let's say I cannot tolerate the notion that I could make a mistake. I drop a hammer on my toe. If I didn't do it, somebody else must have done it. But who? I don't see anyone. There must be sinister forces hiding in the shadows trying to do me wrong. Within a short time, I am experiencing full-blown paranoia, rooted in the belief that I am perfect and I can do no wrong. Father, help me to know clearly why I am struggling with mental illness. Heal me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Help me to see the depth of the love You have for me. I can develop a healthy perspective on life. My emotions can become stable. Father, please restore my mental health. Amen.
