#131 - I Am Suicidal
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I am having thoughts of ending my life. Father, please attend to me now. Intervene. Get me help. Rescue me this very moment. Frustrate the plans I have made to commit suicide. Remind me today that the courageous thing to do is to live another day and to fight another battle. Please help me to understand that my thoughts of suicide are not from You. Please help me to understand that my enemy wants me to die. Please help me to understand that You only have the authority to take life. Please help me to understand that the taking of life, which is the prerogative of God alone, may be the ultimate rebellion from You. Please help me to understand that I can do all things by Your grace and power, including healing and recovering from the difficulties I am facing. Please help me to understand that I can be strong. I can make it through this tough time in my life. Please help me to understand that answered prayer and relief is coming - at the right time and place. I need to hang in there a little longer and see what wonderful things You have in the works to relieve me of my suffering. Please give me compassion and empathy for those who would be my survivors - my family and friends. Please don't let me leave them with a lifetime of pain dealing with my suicide. Please prevent me from committing suicide for the sake of those who might find my remains and the traumatic effect it could have on them. Please help me understand that my suicide might fail and that I might be far worse off after a failed suicide attempt than I am now. Please help me to understand that You have lives for me to touch and a difference You want me to make in my community. Let my cry out for help now be part of a wonderful story of recovery I share in the future with others who feel suicidal. Amen.
