Dear Father, what other book knows my human nature as well as the Bible? What other book has as accurately described my thoughts, feelings, and purposes as the Bible? I read the Bible and I recognize my own rebellion from You. I am at the center of everything around me and Your Word describes that so accurately. I recognize my character traits and it's not a pretty picture. From Genesis through Revelation, the writers of the Bible wrote as though they understood my emotional and spiritual weaknesses. I thank You that I know the Bible is true not because I can win a debate in apologetics with a doubter but because I see my heart reflected in every book in the Bible. The inspired writers of Scripture wrote as if they were recording the brokenness and rebellion of my life in the 21st century. That's all the evidence I need to know that the Bible is God's Word. Amen.
