#156 - Life in a Recovery Home
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I live in a drug and alcohol addiction recovery home. It is a house like any other house, with a yard and driveway. It is the home of a half-dozen or so strangers, sharing the struggle to overcome addiction. We do not have anywhere else to live. We don't have the money for a deposit on our own apartments. Sharing living expenses with others certainly makes living more affordable. However, most importantly, we are still in need of accountability. I'm still vulnerable to temptation. I need structure because I can't afford to mess around with drugs or I will be back on the street. House rules and regulations. Curfews. Chores. I'm learning to be responsible with my life. I thank You I am not on the street because that is the only other alternative. Father, I ask that You bless the services provided by this recovery home. May the services be effective changing my life around, freeing me from my addiction. May I earn the money I need to afford the costs of being a resident of this home. I pray You will bless the owners who have dedicated their lives to the rescue of addicts. Father, transform each resident. As for me, I confess I am not god. It was that rebellious heart that got me into the mess I am in. I doubted You. I worshipped other things. Look what that got me. Father, I surrender. Please forgive me of my rebellion in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind. Turn me into a testimony of Your transforming grace that inspires others who feel lost to addiction. Amen.
