#169 - Help Me
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I need a walker. A cane. Crutches. A wheelchair. An oxygen tank. I am bedridden. I am not able to sit or stand. I am not able to care for myself. I've had an injury or a debilitating disease. My body is not what it used to be. I used to run, jump, climb trees, and skip rope. I used to play sports or ride a bike for 20 miles at a time. Father, what have I learned from this experience? I am not my own god. If I was, I would be healthy at the blink of my eye. Father, I am not God. A medical crisis, especially a chronic one, is a reminder that I am dependent upon You. A medical crisis is a spiritual lesson for friends and family. We are mere mortals. Father, it is from that experience that we learn to surrender our lives to You. You are God and I am not. I surrender my life to You. You can be God from this point forward. I will inquire of You for each decision I need to make. I will ask You for everything that I need. Father, You will heal me one day in this lifetime or the next. However, what You want is my spiritual renewal. You may want me to stay in this life longer when I surrender my life to your service. You want my testimony of Your goodness to be heard. Amen.
