#224 - What is My Calling in Life?
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I've been drifting through my life without a purpose. I went to elementary school, middle school, and high school because I had to. I went to college because that's what people expected of me. I took a job after I graduated from college because it was the only offer I received. I go to work and I come home, eat dinner, surf the Internet, and go to bed. Day after day. I clean the house and work in the garden. I talk to the neighbors and I go to church. The family comes over for special occasions. Father, is this it? Is this all there is? Don't I have a more meaningful purpose in life? I know I do. In fact, I have several purposes. - I am to have a relationship with You. You created me for us to enjoy life together. Father, I want to have a meaningful relationship with You. - You created me to honor and glorify You. This is more than simply saying "praise God." Father, I am to honor You with my character, a character that bears the fruit of obedience and surrender to You. I am to live my life like Your Son, Jesus Christ, lived His life. Help me to surrender my life to You so that I can have the character that other people praise You for. - I am to do good works, works You have prepared in advance for me to do. There are lives You want me to touch. You have deliberately given me specific talents, gifts, skills, and expertise. You have a master plan for the people I am going to encounter and minister to. Father, that is my calling in life. It's not about wealth, power, fame, influence, or inventing a product or service. My calling is about my daily walk with You, my godly character, and the good works You have already planned for me to do. Father, let's get going on this. Transform me. Fulfill the calling You have given me. Amen.
