#248 - Make Me Resilient
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I want to drag my rear end across the finish line. I want to crawl mile after mile through frozen and harsh terrain. I want to be bloody, bruised, and battered, rise to my feet, get back on the horse, and charge once more into battle. Knock me down. I get up. Knock me down again. I get back up. Knock me down again. I get up. Slap me in the face? I smile. Slap me in the face again? I smile. Day after day. I want to be spent, exhausted, and emptied, giving my all to something I believe in. I want to be so worn out that I collapse in a bed and then get up a few minutes later when I hear someone else needs help. Father, this is the sign of someone who has surrendered their life to You. They are resilient in doing good works. They are determined they will honor You - on every occasion and before every human being. Their need for comfort and relief always takes a back seat to an opportunity to love someone else in Your name. Father, give me that kind of resilience. I can take the beating and keep on striving to serve You. May I stop once You inspire loving friends and family to force me to take a break and refresh my body and soul. May they lock the doors and windows to prevent me from escaping because my spirit wants to expend every drop of energy it can to bring the love of God to people in need. Make me that resilient with the gospel of love of Jesus Christ. Amen.
