#263 - I'm Taking a Test
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I have a major test coming up. An exam. School. Professional. Life. I need to memorize and regurgitate facts. I need to explain processes, concepts, and theories. I need to deal with disappointment and heartache. It's a mid-term for biology. A final for sociology. A real-estate license exam. The upcoming death of someone in hospice care. Father, every test is the same thing: how persevering is this individual? Did they complete and understand all the readings? Did they take great notes in every lecture? Did they put in enough time trying to learn the course material? Did they do enough research for the paper? Do they have enough references? Did they take the time to properly outline the paper? Did they proofread the paper before handing it in? Do they really have faith in God? Are they capable of persevering in their belief in God's goodness when life gets very hard? We will see. Here comes the test. Father, help me to persevere. Help me to work hard. Help me to do all that is required of me. Help me not to cut corners. Help me not to take shortcuts. Help me not to cheat. Let's show all who grade my work and all who evaluate my character from afar that I am up to the challenge. I trust in You. I get my strength from You. Father, help me to do well in this upcoming test. Amen.
