#355 - I Will Be Released from Prison
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I have learned that I will be released from prison. Thank You. Incarceration in prison has been so incredibly hard. I've been on constant alert, hour after hour, day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. What's going on behind my back? Who is plotting against me? I've been stressed saying and doing the right things to appease other prisoners. I have been treading water, trying to keep myself out of trouble. If I stop treading even for a moment, I'll either surrender to the culture or be victimized. Release is not only freedom for me but also rest. I will be leaving some friends behind in prison and I will miss them. Father, keep watching over them and protecting them. May I not forget the misery they continue to live with. However, my concern now is adjusting to life outside the prison. I'm returning to the community that introduced me to crime. I'm returning to the community where drugs are everywhere. If I'm not careful, I'll end up right back in prison, a repeat offender. Father, please get me involved with people, groups, organizations, ministries, and churches who work with the formerly incarcerated. I need godly mentors and advocates, people who are determined to see that my life becomes a testimony of Your transforming love. Father, I want to become a good responsible and trustworthy citizen. You are God and You can transform my heart and mind. You can also help others see me in a favorable light, that I am reformed. You can encourage people to give me opportunity. Father, I ask for these things today. Amen.
