#393 - My Home Must be Immaculate
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I am so frustrated. Did You see that home I was just in? Immaculate. Gorgeous. It is truly a beautiful home. The appointments. The detail. The colors. Adorable. Look at my home. It pales in comparison. I've tried so hard to have a lovely home but this other home puts mine to shame. I give up. No matter what I do, on the interior or the exterior, there's always someone with a more elegant home. I'm tired of this. Father, I said this as I opened the door to my home. My child greeted me at the door and, with tears in her eyes, she thanked me for being the parent that I am. Two hours later, after more tears and hugs in just about every room of my messy house, I am feeling on top of the world. I have made a difference in my child's life. They credit me with helping them through a tough time in their life. They say that I gave them strength to face their struggles. They recited the things I've said through the years that made a difference to them. What led to all of this? They revealed to me that Mr. and Mrs. Smith, whose home I was jealous of earlier in the evening, are getting a divorce. He had an affair. It has torn apart their children, friends of my daughter. I had no idea. Their handsome home was deceptive. It masked the trouble in the family. Tonight, I feel like I am the one with a beautiful home. My spouse and I and my children are united in Christ. We have confessed our rebellion to You. We have surrendered our lives to You. The Holy Spirit has been at work, changing each one of us, bonding us all together. Father, thank You. I pray that Your mercy and grace will be on the Smith's. Things aren't looking very good in their home. Amen.
