#660 - I Feel Ashamed
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor

Dear Father, I did something wrong. I dishonored something good that many people hold dear. I showed disrespect to a friend or family member. I offended the good graces of an entire group of people. I exhibited behavior that any upright and decent person would use as an example to their children of how not to behave. I was foolish, childish, and adolescent. I showed no dignity or class. I showed no self-control. I dishonored my own reputation. Above all, I dishonored Your name. Father, I confess all this and I ask for forgiveness. Jesus Christ died on the cross for my own shameful behavior. I need to repent (not do it again) and make amends, showing to You that my sorrow for my sin is real. I need to seek forgiveness of the people I offended. I need to share the lesson I have learned, including how my behavior was wrong and how I will now live differently. I need to live an honorable life, to seek to become an example of all the good character traits. I need to demonstrate the fruits of the Holy Spirit - by my words and my actions. Please help me to change and to put childish and shameful behavior behind me. Thank You for forgiving me. Amen.
