#617 - I'm Going to be a Grandparent
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor

Dear Father, I'm going to be a grandparent. I'm so excited. I'm so excited for my son or daughter. Oh, Father, please have mercy on the couple. There is so many things that could go wrong with this pregnancy. I ask that You carry this precious new life safely through the entire nine months in the womb. Deliver this baby safely into this world. I pray for Your blessings on the mother of our grandchild. May she have a comfortable pregnancy and delivery. Father, give this child: - Wonderful skills, gifts, and talents. - A likeable personality. - A teachable heart. - A heart that will long for You at an early age. May my grandchild serve You in amazing ways. - A purpose to touch lives and make a difference in their lifetime. I ask that You bless this child through all his or her years. - Pave their road. Remove the stumbling blocks. Guard their steps. Help them to leap over problems. - Give them what they always need. - Protect them from their enemies. - Turn them into a man or woman of God at an early age. As for his or her grandparents, may we model Jesus Christ. May we model surrender of our lives to You. May we teach. May we train. May we display love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, kindness, faith, patience, and perseverance to our grandchild. May we not spoil this child. May we support, and not contradict, the way his or her godly parents raise them. Father, may this child have a genuine, authentic, godly, faithful, admirable, and mature father. Our son or our son-in-law. His responsibility for my grandchild is huge. Huge. May we pray for him as a dad every day for the rest of our lives. Father, thank You for the joy You have brought us with our grandchild. Amen.
