#692 - My Manners
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor

Dear Father, I can be rude. In other words, I can act like I'm more important than other people. My opinions, beliefs, and values are more important. What I must say is more important. What I must do is more important. My feelings are more important than other people's feelings. My comfort is more important than the comfort of others. Father, at the core of all rudeness is the heart attitude that I'm better or more important than others. I need to get in a door before someone else. I need to enjoy that last piece of cake more than anyone else. I need to speak my mind no matter how it hurts someone else. Father, our manners are associated with how much we believe we are our own god. If I am my own god, I become more important than others. On the contrary, if I surrender to You and Your Spirit of service and humility, other people will become more important than me. They go first before me. Father, I don't need to study a book on etiquette or proper manners. I just need to love You with all my, heart, soul, and spirit. Help me be polite to others by surrendering my life to You. Amen.
