#706 - I'm into Politics
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor

Dear Father, Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey as the people's choice for a political messiah. People talked in their homes and in the markets throughout the region about how Jesus would lead a Jewish army against the Roman Empire. Jesus wanted revolution as well, the transformation of the entire culture. However, the revolution He wanted was not at all what the people wanted. He didn't want the political revolution. He wanted a spiritual revolution. The people felt society would be good if the right politicians were in power. Jesus knew that society would be good when the Holy Spirit was in control of the hearts of individuals throughout the land. For Him, cultural change would come when people shared the love of Christ with others. As people embraced Christ, the Holy Spirit would transform them into loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled citizens. The Jewish people would be transformed. The Roman citizens would be transformed. Samaritans would be transformed. A population of people who have surrendered their hearts to God will be a population at peace. The prescription for societal blessing has not changed in the 21st century. It is not politics. It is the work of the church. Believers across America will do more to transform America by sharing their testimonies and serving people in need than any politician, political party, or party platform. Father, help me to be a part of the political revival in America by obeying Your spiritual prescription for the transformation of individual lives. Amen.
