#265 - The Details Matter
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I call someone and ask how they are doing. They ask to talk in person. I rush over and listen to them share the burden on their heart. I buy them a cup of coffee. I drive them to their car because it is raining. For the next few days I send texts and leave voicemails but they don't respond. What's going on? I receive a text a few days later saying I hurt them. What? How on earth did I hurt them? I forgot it was the one-year anniversary of their mother's passing. I was accused of being insensitive. Details matter in relationships. Details matter in our work. It's in the details that mistakes are made and it's in the details that hearts are touched. Father, help me to be on top of as many details as I can. Help me to make lists or whatever I need to do to not overlook a detail that is important to someone else. I am mortal. I can't be perfect. May the person whose detail I miss be gracious. May they know how much I care. May I be gracious, forgiving, and understanding to those who miss the details I want them to remember. They are human just like me. Amen.
