Dear Father, I am an expert. I know everything there is to know. Facts? I've got them. Analysis? I'm good at that. The boy next door will become a drug addict. Watch. The girl across the street will end up in teen pregnancy. Mark my word. My child is going to graduate from the best college in America. Trust me. She'll be very successful. Father, here I go again. I believe I am my own god. I'm proud and arrogant. I'm also extremely foolish. The boy next door may become a pastor of a church. The girl down the street may become a surgeon who saves lives. My child may be arrested for drug possession. I don't know what will happen in the future. Who will win the election next year? I don't know. When will it rain again? I don't have a clue. Who will win the Super Bowl? I have no idea. I must wait and see what You do. Surprise me with things I don't expect. You control the destiny of individuals, families, communities, teams, groups, organizations, and nations. You do as You please whenever You want to. You don't consult me ahead of time. Your ways are not predictable. Therefore, I need to learn to wait and watch. Father, forgive me for making predictions. Amen.
