Dear Father, men and women respond to a 9-1-1 call with sirens blaring and lights flashing. In old Hollywood movies, the cavalry would come riding over the hill to save the innocent. Code blue is broadcast throughout the hospital and dedicated doctors and nurses rush crash carts to a patient's bedside. There are many metaphors in our culture of people responding immediately to someone's cry for help. What happens when I cry out for rescue when I feel spiritually lost and under spiritual attack? You come racing to the scene with Your full might and power. The forces of darkness scatter like rats in the beam of a flashlight. It is terrifying for evil powers to see the God of the universe rushing to the scene to rescue someone who cries out for spiritual deliverance. Father, I'm crying out for spiritual rescue. Please rush to my side now and deliver me. Amen.
