#240 - Help Me Handle My Stress
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I could just scream. I'm so stressed. My kids are demanding I be perfect. My employer is demanding I do the work of three people. My neighbors expect my property to be immaculate. My church is asking me to take on leadership of another ministry. My spouse has expectations for me to improve my character after I'm done cutting the lawn or cooking dinner. I must work harder to fit into that dress in two months at my daughter's wedding. I don't know how we will be able to afford repairs to the car. My brother won't speak to me after our argument. My dear friend was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. How on earth am I going to quit smoking? Father, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I literally can. I can move mountains when my faith is genuine. However, I know You aren't going to eliminate the stressors from my life. My problems aren't going to magically disappear. If they do, new problems will come. Problems are the Refiner's fire of our souls. They help us grow in faith and in character. They will always be there because You are a loving God who wants us to grow. Father, You will give me peace, wonderful calm, and quietness of soul. The storms of my life will continue but they will no longer raise my blood pressure. No matter what happens to me, I will be fine. I have Your love. There is rest at the end of the journey, perfect and amazing rest. Nothing can separate me from Your love. I don't have to solve my problems. I just need to hand them over to You and let You handle them. I need to truly and sincerely repent from being my own god and let You be God. My life is chaos. That comes with being human. However, You are not stressing out. You are calm, relaxed, and at peace with my life situation. I can get some sleep tonight. Thank You. Amen
