#411 - Traveling Overseas
Volume 1 - Prayers to Love God

Dear Father, I am traveling to a distant land. The land is populated by people who don't look like me, talk like me, or act like me. They grew up in their culture with different values, priorities, and beliefs than mine. They have different customs and traditions. They eat strange foods. Their daily activities are different than what I am used to. They look at birth, family, marriage, aging, death, economics, education, religion, and politics differently than I do. They are going to be suspicious of me, as I am of them. Their suspicion can be anywhere from an inconvenience to outright danger for me. Father, I need protection as I travel. I need You to protect my loved ones while I'm away from home. Deliver me back home safely at the end of this trip. Help me to connect with and be a blessing to brothers and sisters in Christ who live in this foreign land. May I be a blessing to those I encounter, especially those in need. May I not only represent You well but may I reflect what is good about America and Americans. Teach me about life, Yourself, people, and myself through what I experience in this country. Show me how much You love the natives in the countries I visit. While I'm there, show me spectacular sites in this country, things I can take pictures of and show others how awesome and amazing You are. Father, we are all one big family on this earth. May I treat all who cross my path with respect and dignity. May this trip also teach me to appreciate the blessings You have given me in America. Amen.
